welcome!

fernie wedding photographer

I only take a handful of weddings each season, so that I can dedicate time to actually get to know my couples, develop a friendship, and edit each image individually. I want to get it right.

One thing I wanted to cover before you dive into my pricing is that great photos take time. You get what you put into it. Usually I dedicate 1 to 1.5 hours of the wedding day for solo photos of the happy couple (posed + candid). This is when the magic happens. If you want to dedicate a portion of your wedding day to creating magic, carry on scrolling through my pricing guide!

Let me know you're serious about moving forward with me. Please be kind to the other photographers you've inquired with and let them know you're going another direction. There won't be any hard feelings I promise.

Ghosting vendors is super lame.

Hiring a wedding photographer is a HUMONGOUS decision as you’re going to be spending a good chunk of your wedding day with them by your side. I schedule a video or in person consult before signing any papers to make sure we jive. I believe developing a strong connection with my couples is what makes my work stand out.

How long do I wait for images?

What if your camera breaks?

You will get your images in 4-12 weeks from your wedding day. I've never had a turn-around time longer than that. If for some unforeseen circumstance your images need more time, I'll reach out to you via email to let you know.

I have two cameras that I bring along to all my weddings and elopements. So if one of my camera's ends up malfunctioning I have another one as a backup. Both of these cameras have dual memory card slots which record your precious memories onto two cards instead of just one. Wedding days are a big deal, and I don't mess around with taking any chances when it comes to electronics.

How will I get my images?

Can I opt out of the complimentary engagement session?

You may opt out of your engagement session, but a price reduction cannot be offered. The engagement session is included as complimentary with full day wedding bookings as a chance to work together before your wedding day. This is an opportunity to get comfortable with each other, and build a relationship. I am a firm believer that engagement sessions build a solid foundation for creating successful wedding day photos. Engagement sessions are highly encouraged.

You will receive your images in an online downloadable gallery. You can download these images to share on your social media, print, and share with your friends and family. (No need for your guests to bring their camera to the ceremony, as they can have access to your images). This downloadable gallery is super nifty in that it allows you to directly order prints and products that only professional photographers have access to.

Do you have location suggestions?

What should I wear?

I've got your back! I have a what to wear guide that I send out to all my couples that have an engagement session with me. It goes over colour, practicality, coordination etc.

Heck to the yes I do! I spend a good chunk of my free time outdoors. I've always got my eye looking out for new locations and stunning views. I'm always happy to share these spots with my clients. If you have a particular spot in mind, I'm happy to go along for the ride.

eight

Do you travel for engagement sessions?

I'm awkward in front of the camera, is that going to be a problem?

Complimentary engagement sessions can be at any location within 50 kilometers outside the city of Kimberley. If you'd like me to travel further for your session, my travel rate is $0.45 per kilometer. Depending on the location, an overnight stay in a hotel may be required.

Heck no! Majority of my clients warn me that they are "awkward in front of the camera". It always ends up being untrue. You're not awkward in front of the camera, you've just been put in awkward poses. I shoot in a way that feels natural. I do a bit of guiding but I use prompting to make your session a bit of fun. Ex. run through this field like you're coming home from the bar. These prompts are super fun and it typically ends up in hysterical laughter. The key to success is letting your guard down and focusing on each other rather than my camera. I promise it'll be fun!
